Project History

The Concept

This powerful sculpture represents the invisible burden many people carry: social expectations, oppressive traditions, or the weight of the past. The stone on the head is a visual metaphor for those burdens that condition our lives.

The Artistic Challenge

The challenge was to create a figure that simultaneously conveys vulnerability and resistance. The body posture, facial expression, and relationship with the stone had to communicate the tension between oppression and human dignity.

Casting Process (S3)

The modeling (S1) required deep study of anatomy under tension. Lost-wax casting captured every detail of expression and posture, while the patina (S4) adds a layer of emotional meaning.

Legacy and Impact

This work invites reflection on the burdens society imposes and the resilience of the human spirit to bear them.
