Historia del Proyecto
Project Story
American Dream materializes the tension between idealized aspirations and the complex realities of migratory experience. This work by Uldis López transcends the narrative of material success to explore identity, belonging, and personal transformation.
The Artistic Vision: The American dream is a continuous process of negotiation between what is left behind and what is built ahead. The figure captures transition: rootedness and flight, certainty and search, heritage and reinvention. The asymmetric composition reflects the imbalance of migratory experience —dynamic balance, harmony over tensions.
The Technical Challenge: R.U.N. Art Foundry transformed the asymmetric vision into a stable sculpture. 1.80m height, 250kg: strategic internal anchoring system transfers weight to center of gravity. Engineering is invisible —technique is also art.
Patina as Narrative: 7-layer narrative patina combines oxidized greens (copper sulfate, 140-180°C) + warm bronzes (ferric nitrate, 120-160°C). Greens evoke time and historical memory; bronzes represent present vitality. Gradual transition creates chromatic coexistence reinforcing identities in dialogue.
Technical Fidelity: Lost-wax casting with high-definition silicone molds. The final bronze is an artistic continuation preserving the sculptor’s intention, emotion, and technique.
Impact: Private collection. Evidence of commitment to technical excellence in service of artistic vision: from mold to bronze, art with soul and precision. (S1) (S3) (S5)
